If you would like to sew the patch on yourself, we'd be happy to leave the backing off--this is the most stable type of adherence to a garment for an item that will be washed regularly

Iron-on is fine for attaching to things that will not be washed regularly such as backpacks, denim jackets, tote bags.

Peel-N-Stick backing is for projects that do not require washing in the washing machine.  Put it on things that only need a wipe off occasionally like hats, folders, pencil boxes.
